Someone once said of Mayhew & his work;

'I was struck by the sense of yearning in it, your acknowledgement of yourself as a conduit for other people's stories, a vessel other people pass through and even a yearning for the work itself, its ephemeral being, its lack of documentation, its here-now-gone tomorrowness.'

That was Terry O'Connor of Forced Entertainment.

Lois Keidan, Director of Live Art Development Agency is quoted as saying " it's provocative, it's challenging, and it winds people up. But it also moves people and changes people, and it's important, significant, and influential."

Noora Maria Lobo
6pm onwards
Noora Maria Lobo explores issues of diaspora and how it effects representation and identity, with the use of food. These ideas are explored through the performative act of cooking: often valorising one-on-one as the most affective performance mode. Her current practice is also taking shape within the conceptual arena, often exhibiting her performance residues as installations. Noora is coming to the end of a Masters in Performance Practice at the University of Plymouth.

Kira O’Reilly is a UK based artist; her practice, both willfully interdisciplinary and entirely undisciplined, stems from a visual art background; it employs performance, biotechnical practices and writing with which to consider speculative reconfigurations around The body.

Oreet Ashery
Oh Jerusalem
Oreet Ashery combines performance, social intervention, video installation and photography to create an interdisciplinary visual art practice. Her work engages with socio-political paradigms, confronting identities, and tends to include participatory and delegated elements. Ashery would often perform as various male characters, those have included an Orthodox Jew, a fat farmer, a false messiah, an Arab man, a black man and a Norwegian postman. Ashery is interested to expand the language of art and performance in relation to other disciplines, and to further explore the relationships between various modes of production. One of Ashery¹s recent interactive performance Raging Balls was shown at Tate Modern, Brooklyn Museum, NY, Musée cantonal des Beaux-Arts (MCBA), Lausanne, HKW Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Berlin, amongst others, Raging Balls was the title Ashery¹s solo exhibition at the Other Gallery, Beijing, June 2010. Recently Ashery published three books, the Graphic novel The Novel of Nonel and Vovel, her monograph Dancing with Men and the Artangel commission Staying, Bin, Dream Soft Stud and other stories.

Melville Mitchell
The Forge Tavern Incident
©Warren Orchard
Melville Mitchell’s high impact performances see moments of determined physicality, back slapping solidarity and feats of supportive endurance. Often stemming from real events the pair have experienced together, these performances are the core of a practice that extends further  through the mediums of sculpture, video and drawing.
