]performance s p a c e[

]performance s p a c e [ is an artist led non-profit organisation that provides studio and project space specifically for performance, live and temporal art.

]performance s p a c e [ is different to conventional studio space in its approach and set up, as each studio artist has a desk and use of a large communal flux space (3,000 sq foot).

The ethos of ]performance s p a c e [ is that it’s good to work together. By that we mean sharing information, networks, opportunities and engaging in critical discussion about each others practice.

We aim to develop the network of artists working with performance art, a supportive community and act as a place of development outside mainstream education and gallery structures. We are keen to facilitate programmes that address or provide this, including regular peer and guest led tutorials, critical sessions, workshops and events.
]performance s p a c e [ is passionate about the need for a platform where work can unfold without restraints of duration or space. We are interested in work that critically and physically pushes the boundaries of body and space, simultaneous group action, durational performance, text and tech. As such the space is also used for events and all studio artists have the opportunity to organise events and exhibitions.
]performance s p a c e [ believes that actions and people are all about movement. Consequently, studio space is available on a rolling monthly basis to develop a core community of studio artists and short term to widen the performance network and give space and support to visitors.
